February Inspirations

A lot of the quotes we got in class over the course of February let out some great pieces that I have never been more proud of. Out of everything I have written in this class, I got inspired by two quotes that led me to have written the best pieces on my writing journey. There was also inspiration for a future piece that I got from Hunni and I am hoping for it to be one of my future free choices.

¨ At the still point, there the dance is.¨

This quote inspired me to write about some hidden feelings I have for someone, basically fantasy writing.

¨ It does not do well to dwell on dreams and forget to live, remember that.¨ – JK Rowling

This quote also inspired me to write another fantasy about the same person but in a sweet way, and I really found the inspiration form the ¨dwelling on dreams.¨

¨Pick 5 things that make you happy, and write about them.¨ – Ms. Hunniset

When Ms. Hunni told me to write this, I was in a stressful and miserable place, and I could not bring myself to focus on the positive, so instead, I wrote about everything that was stressing me out. In the midst of it, I had an epiphany of how I could write a piece about what makes me happy, but with a creative twist that I think is reflective of me. This is yet to be written, but will definitely show up on my blog once it is done.

March inspirations

¨sometimes I can hear my bones straining under the weight of all the lives I am not living.¨ – Jonothan Safrer Foer

This inspired a piece that I have posted on my blog that can be found here : https://5irbetru7a.edublogs.org/2019/03/09/the-other-side-of-things/

¨staying quiet when you feel like shouting.¨

This was a breadcrumb Ms. Hunni put on Edsby and I found myself writing out things I did not think I actually thought about – if that makes sense. It is a piece that needs a lot of work, but here is the post : https://5irbetru7a.edublogs.org/2019/04/03/what-is-your-silence-like/

¨there is no mercy without price and no pardon without a price.¨ – Arabian Nights and Days page 12

¨also he was sure of nothing¨ – ANAD page 14

I want to write some great pieces with these quotes from the book I read this month, but I never had time to do it. I hope to find the time to write something with these because I have a lot that comes to mind when I read these. Although they are small lines, they bring a lot of things to mind, I think for anyone as well.

April Inspirations

” To be loved us the one to be destroyed.”

” Every human is trapped by soicety.”

these are both inspirations I got from the writers seminar which was on Cassandra Clare, although, I am not sure if they were direct quotes from the books, or if it was from what someone might have said in class. Either way, I found inspiration in these saying because I into writing about truth, and I found a lot of truth I could write from these few words.

” Why do numbers matter?”

this is inspiration I found from myself when I realized that everyone obsesses over number because that is what a lot of aspects of us are defined by, as sad as it is. I am currently working on this piece and hope to have it perfected for my May free choice because numbers being everything people care about is something I hate and I have a lot to say bout this topic.

” The three modes of being: being in itself, being for itself, being for others.”

Not too long ago, we had a former FFCA student who is studying philosophy in uni came to our class and talked to us about philosophy. I loved how there were just too many perspectives to look at the world and to be completely honest, it gave me a throbbing headache, but I appreciate everything about the subject of philosophy.

May/June Inspiration

May and June were a tough few weeks for me, and I was in a complete writers block. Despite this, I was able to get down a few lines from the book I was reading that could potentially spark something sooner or later. These next few quotes are from the book Beirut Hellfire Society,

“simply filled with life”

“he pitied him, and loved him all the more.”

“both embarrassed and filled with wonder.”

“he has done this before, alone”

This last one sparked a mini poem I wrote that was about a boy who was struggling with overthinking and he is having to get over it by himself. As I am typing this out, I am feeling some inspiration for the short story writing we have to do. lol. This is it.

revolution

Another thing that inspired me was taking a few books from around Hunni’s class and making the titles into a mini story.

” In the world of wonders, the love of a good woman makes the silver stars shine bright through her heart of darkness.”
